Anson County Busted Mugshots is a private reference service, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, retrieve an official booking file, or change a sheriff, jail, court, or corrections record. Questions about a live record must go to the government office that created or holds it.

Where to Ask About a Record

Use the contact that matches the record stage. The county sheriff is the verified starting point for Anson County Jail custody, booking records, photos, and warrant routing. The county did not publish a dedicated booking-record email or form in the research, so call first and ask for the current custodian.

  • For a booking photo or older intake record: ask the sheriff for a narrow public-record request under North Carolina law.
  • For a Wadesboro police report: use the police page and its Record Request Form, emailed to Records Clerk shorne@wadesboronc.gov.
  • For a Polkton municipal question: call the town-listed police non-emergency line at (704) 272-7463. No public Polkton arrest log or request form was verified.
  • For an Ansonville town question: call (704) 826-8404. No separate town police records unit or arrest feed was located.
  • For a court case, hearing, or disposition: use the Anson County Judicial Branch and eCourts.
  • For a state prisoner or person on state supervision: use the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction offender search and public-records contact.

What to Include in a Request

Give the custodian enough detail to find one record. Include the person's full name, approximate booking or incident date, arresting agency, booking number or case number if known, and whether the request concerns a report, booking record, identification photograph, or court file. Ask for the public portion and the legal basis for any redaction or withholding.

North Carolina G.S. 132-1 and G.S. 132-6 address public records, photographs, electronic records, inspection, copies, and lawful charges. No Anson-specific fee schedule or fixed turnaround was located. Ask for an estimate before copying and do not treat “promptly” as a guaranteed number of days.

Other Official Lookup Paths

A just-booked or currently detained person belongs to the county jail path. A released person may no longer show in the live roster, so ask the sheriff for the booking record and use eCourts for the case. A sentenced state prisoner belongs to NCDAC. Federal custody belongs to BOP, while immigration detention uses ICE's locator. These systems do not share one complete roster.

NC SAVAN is a statewide custody-notification service covering county jail, state prison, probation, parole, and registered sex-offender records. Anson ACORN is for emergency and severe-weather alerts. Neither is a booking-photo service. The sheriff's Crime Stoppers number is (704) 695-3111; use 911 for an emergency.

What This Service Cannot Confirm

This service cannot confirm that a person is in Anson County Jail, cannot say whether a charge is true, cannot determine a court result, and cannot make a government office release a record. It cannot remove a private copy or guarantee that an online listing is current. A booking charge is an accusation, and only the court establishes the disposition.

Sheriff Scott Howell's office is the local authority for the county custody contact listed above.
